German sprinter Alica Schmidt has emerged as one of the most promising sprinters in the world.

Born in Worms in 1998, Schmidt is also known for her pleasing looks aside from her athletic skills.

The 24-year-old sprinter was raised in the small German town of Pulheim. Dedicating much of her childhood to sports and training, she first played for a local football club in the city of Cologne.

Professional sprinting coach Thomas Kremer discovered the young German girl while on vacation. Kremer was initially impressed by Schmidt's movements, and he quickly urged her parents to sign her up for the track. She began competing in races at the age of seven.

While in high school, Schmidt moved to the city of Potsdam to train with Brandenburg Athletics Association, taking her career to the next level. She subsequently moved to Berlin with the SCC Sports Club, where she became a star for Germany's U-20 and U-23 teams.

Schmidt was supposed to make her big-stage debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed her plans. She continued to train alone during the lockdowns by running through forests.

Although she was named for the German relay squad when the event finally took place in 2021, Schmidt was not able to showcase her abilities in Japan.
