Tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET two of the Western Conference's top teams, the Oklahoma City Thunder (13-3) and Portland Trailblazers (15-3) will take the court at the Rose Garden in NBA action that can be live streamed here. Thunder fans can listen to the game on WWLS 98.1 while Blazers fans can turn their dials to 1190 KEX Portland.
The Blazers have been one of the top offensive squads in the NBA this year, and are riding high after a big win over the Indiana Pacers earlier this week. "It was a tough one, and we knew it was going to be a tough one going in," said second-year point guard Damian Lillard. "They're a good team, they only had one loss. But we're a good team too, and we wanted to prove that."
The Blazers have long been a team that has either underwhelmed, or been beset by injuries. Now they are playing with toughness, according to head coach Terry Stotts. "You don't win in this league without being tough," Stotts said. "We played the most complete game from beginning to end: Execution, effort, mental focus. All of those things. But I don't believe you play statement games in December."
Currently, the Thunder also have one of the NBA's best records, but their propensity for blowing leads and winning by narrow margins have them walking a tightrope. "We just have to be better," Kevin Durant told Oklahoma City's website. "Of course we can never take a win for granted. It's hard to win in this league."
Head coach Scott Brooks sounded the same tune, telling media "We have to play better (Wednesday) night. We're playing one of the hottest teams in the game right now. They have a great home crowd and have a great atmosphere. But our team has always been up for challenges and definitely (Wednesday) night will be a tough challenge for us."
