Jamie Benn Cross-Checks Mark Stone

Benn was suspended due to cross-checking Golden Knights captain and right winger Mark Stone, as per Sportsnet.

The Vegas-based team was not pleased with Benn's actions, and officials quickly sent him to the office.

Benn took responsibility for his actions, saying that it was due to the heat of the moment. The 33-year-old veteran said that it was his first shift of a game on home ice. Being down 1-0, he wanted to get his game going.

"Emotions are high, and it's just an unfortunate play. I put my team in a tough situation, so it's pretty unfortunate," he said via ESPN.

Benn added that he needed to be more responsible with his body and stick, saying the incident did not feel good.

The Vegas Golden Knights are looking to sweep the Dallas Stars in Game 4 on Thursday.
