Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: Shayanna Jenkins Accused Of Lying To Grand Jury 29 Times To Protect Fiance? [VIDEO]

Prosecutors in the Aaron Hernandez murder case allege the former New England Patriots tight end's fiancee lied to a grand jury at least 29 times in an effort to aid the former NFL star in beating the first-degree murder charges he now faces.

Shayanna Jenkins repeatedly gave false testimony when she testified under oath in August, the Boston Globe reports Bristol County lead prosecutor William McCauley wrote in papers filed in Superior Court.

Hernandez, 24, remains jailed and held without bail in the execution style slaying of one-time associate and semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Lloyd's bullet-riddled body was found less than a mile from Hernandez's North Attleborough mansion on the morning of June 17. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Jenkins, the mother of Hernandez's young daughter, has also pleaded not guilty to perjury charges that could land her behind bars for up to 20 years. According to The Globe, court documents allege she lied about conversations she had with Hernandez after he called her from his attorney's office hours after Lloyd's body was discovered and instructed her to remove specific items from the home they shared and where she discarded them.

In addition, prosecutors allege she lied about the last time she spoke with Ernest Wallace, one of the two men charged with being Hernandez's accomplice in Lloyd's killing and about hiring a crew of house cleaners and requiring them to sign a confidentiality agreement related to the work they performed.

Documents also allege Jenkins lied when she told the grand jury that she saw only one gun in their home and gave additional false testimony about Hernandez's possession of firearms.
