The Oklahoma Sooners jumped to No. 3 in the AP Top 25 poll after their huge 21-point win over the TCU Horned Frogs in Week 7. They will look to cement their standing in the top 3 this Saturday when they lock horns with the Kansas Jayhawks. Here's our preview to see who has the edge in this Oklahoma vs Kansas Week 8 game.

Oklahoma Sooners installed as -38.5 favorites

The Oklahoma Sooners will head to their Big 12 showdown with Kansas with momentum on their side after crushing the TCU Horned Frogs, 52-31, on Saturday. It was another impressive victory for the Sooners, who improved their season record to 7-0. They have won their first seven assignments by an average of 17.9 points.

Oklahoma's offense had been a tremendous start to the season, averaging 42.7 points per game, which is sixth-best in the nation. Just like in their previous victory against Texas in the Red River Showdown, Caleb Williams stole the show for Oklahoma in the win against TCU.

He impressed in his starting debut for the Sooners, completing 18 of 23 passes for 295 yards and four touchdowns. Williams also punished TCU's defensive line, running for 66 yards and a score on nine carries.

For the Sooners to preserve their unbeaten record against the Jayhawks, they will need to establish their ground game this coming Saturday quickly. Oklahoma racked up 230 yards rushing in the win against TCU.

In that victory, Kennedy Brooks was superb for the Sooners, rushing for 153 yards on 20 carries with one touchdown. He will be licking his chops at the prospect of facing a Kansas side that allowed four rushing touchdowns in its last game against Texas Tech.

Kansas Jayhawks enter Week 8 as +38.5 underdogs

Kansas' losing woes show no sign of ending as the Jayhawks crashed to their fifth consecutive defeat with an embarrassing 41-14 loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday. The Jayhawks had no answer for Henry Colombi, who accounted for 159 total yards and two total touchdowns. It was another disappointing performance by Kansas, who dropped to 0-3 in conference play this season.

They will look to get their season back on track when they square off with Oklahoma this coming weekend. However, they will have their work cut out for them against a Sooners side that is firing on all cylinders on the offensive end right now. The Sooners racked up 525 total yards in the win against TCU. That spells trouble for the Jayhawks, who allow 43 points and nearly 500 yards per game on average this season.

With their defense in disarray, the pressure then is on quarterback Jason Bean to deliver a solid performance against Oklahoma. In the loss to Texas Tech, he looked out of sorts, completing just 11 of 21 passes for 80 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
