Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET Tahj Boyd and the No. 6 ranked Clemson Tigers (10-1, 7-1 ACC) will go up against Jadeveon Clowney and the No. 10 South Carolina Gamecocks (9-2, 6-2 SEC) on ESPN 2 in a game that can be live streamed for free by clicking this link. Clemson fans can hear the game on WCCP 104.9 FM, while Gamecocks fans can tune in to WNKT-FM 107.5 FM.
This South Carolina rivalry has slightly less steam than it could have had if both squads were in the BCS National Title picture, but the two teams still have plenty to play for. Bowl game berths are at stake, while state pride will be rampant in this Top Ten matchup.
"Sort of neat that we have two teams in the top 10 that started the season there and are still there after 11 games," South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said. "I know our state is proud of the two football schools. It should be a heck of a game."
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney had a similar take. "To have two teams from the state of South Carolina nationally ranked, that makes this rivalry that much better," Swinney said. "Alabama and Auburn got two top-10 teams playing in their rivalry game, we got two top-10 teams playing in our rivalry game, and I think it makes for an exciting game."
Jadeveon Clowney will be the key factor in trying to disrupt Boyd, who has torched opponents for 3,248 yards and 29 touchdowns through the air while tossing just seven interceptions. On the ground Boyd has chewed up 845 yards and scored four touchdowns.
The Gamecocks would likely want to have one eye on the scoreboard as well; while they battle Clemson No. 5 Missouri will be facing Texas A&M. If Missouri falls, South Carolina can move into a tie in the SEC East, advancing to the SEC championship game due to a tiebreaker. Spurrier wants his charges focused on the task at hand though. "We won't think anything about it," the coach said. "We really won't."
