LeBron James Jr. accomplished a first in his young basketball career on Sunday during the Bigfoot Hoops Las Vegas Classic.
According to Slam HS Hoops, the 13-year-old James, also known as Bronny, threw down his first dunk before the North Coast Blue Chips' game. Slam HS Hoops reported that it was the first career dunk for Bronny, whose accomplishment got the attention of his father, who was in attendance when it happened.
During warm-ups, Bronny bounced an alley-oop pass to himself before completing the one-handed dunk. James posted on his Twitter account the video taken by Slam HS Hoops with the caption "Uh-Oh!! #YoungKing #BronnyJames."
Last month, LeBron Jr. also had a chance to score on a breakaway slam, but he missed it. In comparison, dunk phenom Zion Williamson revealed that he made his first dunk when he was in ninth grade, so LeBron Jr. is well ahead of him.
In an earlier interview, LeBron James Sr. expressed regret for giving his name to his eldest son. James Sr., who recently signed a four-year deal worth $154 million with the Los Angeles Lakers, said his son might be pressured to match his achievements as a basketball player.
LeBron Jr. Shines With 17 Points
LeBron Jr. scored 17 points for the North Coast Blue Chips as it earned a spot in the semifinal of the tournament with a 75-63 win over the Oklahoma Chaos Elite. With his father and Migos rapper Quavo among those watching, Bronny buried five three-pointers, with a few of them coming from the NBA territory.
With a win in the semifinals, the North Coast Blue Chips will have a chance to go for a second straight title. The Blue Chips are coming off a national title at the USBA Championships.
LeBron Sr. has been a regular spectator in his eldest son's basketball games together with his younger children, Bryce and Zhuri. On Saturday, he even threw down some slam dunks while his son's team warmed up. During one of the games, LeBron and former Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Dwyane Wade were spotted supporting their respective sons. Wade's son, Zaire, was playing for Each 1 Teach 1.
James, Wade Working Out Together
When they're not out supporting their sons, James and Wade worked out several times at the homecourt of the Las Vegas Aces. Recently, Wade posted a photo of himself and James after a workout on the Las Vegas Aces' floor. The photo carries a caption "Man it's just work!"
The two superstars also thanked the Aces for allowing them to use their stadium for a private workout. Wade is currently unsigned, but the Heat said they are willing to wait for his decision. Wade also received a $25 million offer to play in China.
