Today at 1:00 p.m. ET the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-9) will travel to Houston where the Texans (2-8) will be trying to sort out their quarterback mess and attempting to have their head coach Gary Kubiak call the shots from the sideline again. The Texans have already lost running back Arian Foster and star linebacker Brian Cushing for the season, and nearly lost Kubiak for good. He was back at work last week, but did his coaching from a press box. This week, he's hopeful of a return to the sideline.
"I could feel a lot better. I know that," Kubiak said. "I'm just one of many people. Every player, every coach, it has been very difficult. It's tough on the organization, everybody, our fans. I feel a lot like everybody else, but I'm the guy that has got to get in there and figure out a way for us to work through it and that's what I'm trying to do."
Next on the list is their wacky quarterback situation. Unlikely hero Case Keenum had showed flashes under center, but was bizarrely benched last week in favor of beleaguered veteran Matt Schaub.
"I think I was really thinking of him to be honest with you," Kubiak said. "I've been in this league a long time and dealt with a lot of quarterbacks. I'm trying to develop one right now. Right or wrong, I made that decision because of the situation I thought I was fixing to put a young player in."
