Pittsburgh knocked off the Detroit Lions last week despite Calvin Johnson performing like a Transformer among men in the second quarter, and have high hopes going forward about potentially reaching the postseason. "We've got to keep this thing going," said wide receiver Jericho Cotchery. "Our margin for error is nonexistent right now. We feel good about this team and we're going to keep grinding."
The Browns entered the season with considerably less expectations than Pittsburgh did, but are in the same position. They rallied after dealing running back Trent Richardson, and now are hoping to keep the surprises coming.
"We have an extreme amount of potential," said linebacker Paul Kruger. "For us, it's just going to be about preparing and doing what we need to do to beat Pittsburgh. I think the coaches do a great job of keeping us focused on what we're doing."
Last week the defense severely limited Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton's output, but allowed the Cincinnati defense to make big plays for touchdowns.
"It was an important opportunity for us, and we didn't play the way we were capable of playing and weren't able to get it done at the end of the day," Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said. "I think that it's important that we learn from this, and when we have an opportunity again, which we will in the future, this experience is something that guys will be able to draw from and that'll help us."
