Tiger Woods Girlfriend Lindsey Vonn Recovering From Partial ACL Tear, Prognosis Not Known [VIDEO]

Lindsey Vonn remains in seclusion after partially tearing the ACL in her surgically repaired right knee in a Colorado ski crash earlier this week.

No prognosis seems in sight for the 29-year Olympic champ and girlfriend of top-ranked golfer Tiger Woods. Vonn was hurt during a training session in Colorado and was last seen being carried off the slopes on a sled.

Though he has not personally seen or treated her, Dr.Daryl Rosenbaum, a sports medicine physician at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, told NBC News Vonn could either be just days away from being able to return to the slopes or looking at yet another season-ending surgery.

"A partial tear doesn't tell you much," Rosenbaum told NBC. "It could mean Vonn is able to function normally or it could mean her knee is functioning as bad as it would be if the ligament had been completely torn. If it's the latter, and her knee is "slipping and sliding" as she tries to use it that's a bad sign."

To date representatives for Vonn have only released a statement reading "Lindsey sustained a mild strain to her right knee, a partial tear to her right ACL, minor facial abrasions and scapular contusions from her fall. She needs to rest for a few days and then will pursue aggressive physical therapy and will determine the next time she is able to compete after seeing how she responds to the treatment."

Vonn injured the same knee earlier this year, when she crashed in the World Championships in February. She tore her ACL, MCL and fractured her lateral tibial plateau; that time, she needed her ACL to be surgically reconstructed.

Vonn and Woods began publicly dating early last year and she has raved about their relationship and the way their competitive natures compliment one another. Woods infamously divorced first wife Elin Nordegren following a cheating scandal where up to 15 women claimed to have been romantically involved with him.
