Tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET the Golden State Warriors (7-3) will take their sweet-shooting act on the road when they step on the EnergySolutions Arena court to face the Utah Jazz (1-10) who will attempt to begin a journey back to respectability. Live stream the game here; Warriors fans can follow along on the radio by tuning in to KNBR 680, while Jazz fans can listen in on 1280 The Zone.
While the Warriors are happy with their nice start out of the gate, power forward David Lee thinks this team has much to prove in terms of winning away from Oracle Arena.
"So far we've quote-unquote beaten the teams that we're supposed to beat and we've won games at home," Lee said. "Now we need to go on the road and do the same thing against a Jazz team that's going to come back and want revenge."
The Jazz bring a sizable frontcourt into this matchup, and Golden State will lean on Lee to combat them with veteran center Jermaine O'Neal sidelined due to a sprained knee. "Jermaine means a lot to this basketball team. He has a voice in the locker room, and we had to regroup," coach Mark Jackson said. "It's never fun or easy looking at a teammate go down like that. So we pray that everything's fine with him. At the end of the day, we have to have guys that step up and be ready."
Jazz forward Marvin Williams thinks the key to Utah getting back in the win column is getting out to a better start. "When you get down, especially to a team like Golden State that can score very quickly, you put yourself in a tough position," Williams said.
A bigger key will be controlling Klay Thompson, who is averaging 25.1 points on 61.7 percent shooting in Warriors victories.
