Tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET the Memphis Grizzlies (3-5) will try to turn around their slow start against the inconsistent Lakers (4-6) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in NBA action that can be live streamed here. Grizzlies fans can catch the radio broadcast 92.9 ESPN Memphis, while Lakers fans can hear the game on 710 ESPN.
Tonight's matchup pits the Gasol brothers against one another, as big bro Pau tries to show that he's still got the upper hand on Marc. Pau Gasol started the season slowly, before busting out against the Nuggets with a 25-point, 12-rebound performance. He may have a hard time getting going against Memphis' swarming defense and huge frontcourt.
"We hang our hat on defense. That's what we do," said power forward Zach Randolph, an offensive anchor struggling to score. "I don't know what it is. We just have to stick together."
The Lakers continue to play without their leader, shooting guard Kobe Bryant, but have also had to forge ahead without point guard Steve Nash, who is expected to miss at least two more weeks with nerve irritation. Nash has only appeared in six games, and in his floor time has been underwhelming.
This season the 40-year-old playmaker is averaging just 6.7 points and 4.8 assists a night in 22.5 minutes. His 3-point percentage is at 38.5 percent, but Nash is only connecting on 26 percent of his shots overall from the field.
L.A. has managed to score close to 100 points a night, but their big struggle has been on the defensive end of the floor, where they surrender more than 105 points per game. They have already allowed opponents to score more than 110 points on four separate occasions, and lost all four of those tilts.
