Rami Sebie whom people know as Sami Zayn from the WWE universe has spoken about the ban imposed on seven Muslim countries by Donald Trump. Sebei is from Syria which is one of those seven Muslim affected nations.
There are many celebrities who have openly spoken about the recent executive ban on immigrants from those seven countries in U.S. by their President Donald Trump but very few of them opposed in such an impactful manner like Sebei did. Sebei is a Muslim who was born in Canada and can speak fluent Arabic.
Following this executive order which was signed by Donald Trump on Friday, refugees from Syrian country were barred from entering into U.S. which was inappropriate according to Sebei. To express his disapproval Sebei wrote a tweet, "I can't articulate how truly disgusted I am right now" as reported by NESN.
Sebei has continued to speak on this issue from last week expressing his anguish, "The fear, hatred & division sold to us is a much bigger problem than our struggling brothers and sisters are. CHOOSE an open heart over anger."
In an interview with ESPN, Sebei spoke about the difference he has felt after joining WWE and how the Arabs were perceived by the WWE and Western media. "Ever since I was a kid and growing up and watching things like the 'Naked Gun' movies, there was always this stereotype about how Arabs were perceived and portrayed. I've never watched those Arab villains in the movie and felt like that was me. They were nothing like me, and now I get to just be me -- and hopefully being me strikes a chord with a lot of young Arabs and non-Arabs, honestly. We're really not all that different." Sebie has been portrayed as a villain in his character for WWE.
Trump's ban will affect the dual citizenship of Sebei and he might also be concerned about his father and mother as they both are Syrian. So if he has to leave U.S. as per the new policy rules he will be joined by many different athletes too.
Sebei has also spoken on the recent attack on a Quebec City mosque in which six worshippers died and Sebei tweeted, "My heart is with the Muslims of Quebec. Mon Coeur est avec les musulmans du Québec."
Sami Zayn as known in WWE was in Royal Rumble match where he replaced Seth Rollins. He is also expected to be participating in Wrestlemania 33.
