Philippine-born Tim Tebow has launched a campaign to aid the people affected by the Typhoon Haiyan, according to The Washington Times.
Tebow, who was born in the Philippines while his parents were serving as missionaries, has activated a donation link on the homepage of his Tim Tebow Foundation website requesting and allowing people to send donations. The foundation has also made the Philippines one of the primary beneficiaries of the outreach program.
The Tebow Foundation is already working with CURE International to build an orthopedic children's hospital in Davao City set to open next year. Amazingly, work already done on the hospital survived the storm that has currently resulted in the deaths of thousands and left as many as 100,000 others homeless.
Tebow is also said to be working with his father's Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association to build a church in the region.
It's been a busy last few few days for the former NFL quarterback, who recently aligned himself with the powerful CAA broadcast TV ageny and is thought to be on the verge of launching a broadcast career. Even more recently, Tebow was spotted in Los Angeles putting himself through a "grueling" assortment of quarterback drills.
