WWE Survivor Series 2013: Tag Match With CM Punk and Bryan Against The Wyatts Announced, No Traditional Matches? [RUMORS] On Final Card [VIDEO]

With the WWE Survivor Series a week and a half away on Nov. 24, the WWE has started making strides in building the final card as three prominent matches have been announced involving its major wrestlers. As the card begins to take shape it looks as though there may not be any traditional four-on-four or five-on-five Survivor Series elimination tag matches on the card for the first time since 2002.

It was rumored that CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, The Usos and The Rhodes Brothers were going to take on The Shield and The Wyatt Family in a huge, traditional six-on-six Survivor Series elimination tag team match after the events of Monday Night RAW, but following the announcement Tuesday night by the WWE that Punk and Bryan will take on Luke Rowan and Erick Harper in a standard tag team match, it seems as though the traditional match has been scrapped.

WWE.com released the following on Tuesday:

"Though The Straight Edge Superstar is quick to proclaim himself a "lone wolf," he and Bryan have more in common than either Superstar might freely admit. Both competitors spent years honing their craft around the globe before arriving in WWE, and both Superstars - with eight combined World Championships between them - have ascended to the top of WWE despite the objections of company brass. Now, a common enemy in the form of The Wyatt Family rounds out their list of similarities, creating a very dangerous tandem to be sure."

It went on: "Whether their shared disdain for the creepy faction will be enough to topple Bray Wyatt's brutish monsters remains to be seen. Since their arrival, the towering henchmen have forged an incredible path of destruction, and Harper has given both Bryan and Punk tough challenges in singles competition. What will happen when it's an all-out two-on-two war at WWE's fall classic? "

While it remains to be seen if the WWE will decide to throw other members in there for a traditional match, after backstage reports have gone back and forth it seems as though the match will remain a standard tag match.

Rumors earlier in the month circled that The Rhodes Brothers were going to defend the Tag Team Championship against The Shield, The Usos and The Real Americans in a four-way tag match, which could still happen. It was also reported all eight could be involved in a traditional tag team match, but it remains a mystery as to whether or not there will be any traditional matches this year.

In other action, Randy Orton and The Big Show are set to square off for the WWE Championship while rumor has it that Show will take on Triple H at the TLC pay-per-view in December, and John Cena will have a Hell in a Cell rematch against Alberto Del Rio in defense of his World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series.

Other rumored matches have included a United States Championship match between Dean Ambrose and Big E Langston, and a match involving the Divas that has yet to be specified through backstage reports.

Survivor Series takes place Sunday Nov. 24, and it may be the first event in over a decade to not feature any traditional Survivor Series matches.
