Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET the Chicago Bulls (2-3) will continue to try and find the form they've had in the past couple of seasons that led many pundits to anoint them the successors to Miami's Eastern Conference crown. They'll host the Cleveland Cavaliers (3-4) at the United Center in NBA action that can be live streamed here. Tonight's game pits two of the premier point guards in the NBA, Derrick Rose of the Bulls and Kyrie Irving of the Cavs, against on another. Rose, though, is returning from more than a season-long absence, and has struggled to find his stride in the early going. Rose hasn't topped 18 points or six assists in any of Chicago's first five games.
"The worst thing to do would be try to force it," Rose said. "That's not my game. I'm going to let it come naturally. I'm going to do what the team needs me to do. I'm going to play the way I normally play. It's going to come."
As a whole, the Bulls have looked out of sync and still adjusting to having D-Rose back. We still have a lot of questions we have to (answer)," head coach Tom Thibodeau said. "One game doesn't mean everything is straightened out. We have to take a hard look at ourselves and make the necessary corrections."
Irving on the other hand is firing on all cylinders, leading Cleveland past the 76ers recently with a 39-point, 12-assist performance that spanned four quarters and two overtimes.
"He's a spectacular player," coach Mike Brown said. "When you have a guy like Kyrie, you're going to have plenty of opportunities to win. Each time I thought he took the right shot. I applaud him to try to close the game the right way. When the game was on the line, we put the ball in his hands to go get it for us."
Tonight will be the first time Rose and Irving ever go head-to-head.
