At 9:00 p.m. E.T. the Western Conference will be alive with offense in Denver at the Pepsi Center, where the Nuggets (0-2) will take on the defending Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs (2-1) in NBA action that can be live streamed here. Spurs fans can hear the game on Ticket 760, while Nuggets fans can listen to the radio broadcast on 93.7 Mile High Sports Radio.
The Nuggets were the third seed in last season's Western Conference playoffs, but were bounced by the Golden State Warriors and their hellacious backcourt. In the offseason, they lost their head coach, general manager, and began this year without starting small forward Danilo Gallinari.
Making matters worse, they're averaging just 93.5 points per game and surrendering over 100. Rookie coach Brian Shaw tried to preach patience to his fan base through this transitional time.
"It's a process. I've said that all along," Shaw told the team's official website. "We'll take our lumps while we try to get through this process. Hopefully not too much longer, but it's a process. We're learning. We just have to steadily improve on a daily basis."
The Spurs lost their first game of the year by 10 to the Portland Trailblazers on Saturday, but that failed to register with big man Tim Duncan, who dropped 24 points after returning from a bruised chest.
"We're gonna win games and we're gonna lose games. It's just how it goes," Duncan said. "We're gonna use the entire 82 games to put a team together and have everybody on the same page once the playoffs start. We're not going to freak out about it."
"It's still early in the season so we still have to work on some stuff," added point guard Tony Parker said. Their new addition Marco Belinelli was impressive in the loss, hitting 8-of-12 from the field and shooting a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.
"He's a competitor," Popovich said. "He's from the same cloth as Manu (Ginobili). He's out there to compete and do everything he can to try to win."
