Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET in Quicken Loans Arena, the Cavaliers (1-2) will try to get back on a winning track after dropping two straight games when they host the undefeated Minnesota Timberwolves (3-0) in NBA action that can be live streamed by clicking this link. Timberwolves fans can listen to the radio broadcast of the game on 1500 ESPN Twin Cities, while Cavs fans can tune in to WTAM 1100.
The T-Wolves were excited at the season's outset to have Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio together and healthy to run a potentially prolific offense. Through three games Love is filling up the stat sheet, averaging 29.7 points and 14.7 rebounds a night, while Rubio is up over 10 assists a game.
"This is such a fun team to play on," shooting guard Kevin Martin said, who signed with the Wolves in the offseason after a year as Oklahoma City's sixth man last season. "Nobody is trying to lead the league in scoring here. Everybody has the big picture of getting to the playoffs."
Love is quickly reminding the NBA of why he was considered a superstar not too long ago, but cautioned against overreaching with optimism. "We don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves because of the injuries," Love said. "So don't want to live in the past, don't want to live too far in the future, we just want to try to plan for Cleveland."
The Cavaliers will probably struggle to keep up with Minnesota's high-octane attack. They're averaging just 85 points a game in total, and just scored a measly 74 point against the Indiana Pacers.
"As crazy as this sounds, I thought (Saturday) was our best offensive night, from the standpoint that the ball moved and bodies moved," head coach Mike Brown said. "Just watching the game, I thought we tried to play with some flow."
They'll need more than flow against Rubio and co. They will need Kyrie Irving (15.7 PPG) to pick it up on the offensive end.
