At 1:00 p.m. the Washington Redskins (2-5) will look to keep their season alive in front of their home fans when they host the rested San Diego Chargers (4-3) at FedEx Field in a CBS game that can be live streamed here. Redskins fans can hear the action on WTEM 980, while Chargers fans may do the same by tuning in to KIOZ 105.3.
The Chargers have been one of the NFL's pleasant surprised, thanks to the resurgence of quarterback Philip Rivers, who has thrown for 2,132 yards and 15 touchdowns this year with just five interceptions.
"He's been tremendous," general manager Tom Telesco said of Rivers. "I always said when your quarterback is the hardest-working player on your team, everything else falls into place. He's certainly one of those. He's a leader for us. His passion for football is off the charts. I can't ask for anything more than what he's done. Players follow him. He's our guy and it's fun having him as our quarterback."
Those were things said about Robert Griffin III last year. So far this season, RGIII hasn't been able to find his footing after extensive offseason knee surgery. He's run for just 240 yards this year while throwing eight interceptions, three more than he tossed all last season.
"Robert was new to the league, and lot of things that he did wowed people because they didn't know what the (heck) was going on," said Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss. "They didn't know if he was going to tuck it, if he was going to run it, they didn't know. Defenses would sit back and say, 'Hey, we got to find a way to prevent him from doing that.'"
