Tom Brady shed some light on the past speculation that he and Gisele Bundchen's marriage was on the rocks.
In the midst of the Deflategate scandal, the Patriots quarterback and model had some issues aside from underinflated footballs. Brady recently spoke about the trouble in his marriage, admitting that he's had a rocky road with his wife.
"[We've] been through a lot of ups and downs together," Brady told Access Hollywood, "and in so many ways that built [the] relationship."
Brady and Bundchen have two kids together, Benjamin, 6, and Vivian, 3, while the quarterback also has a son, John, 8, from his previous relationship with actress and model Bridget Moynahan.
The NFL power couple was the subject of a lot of divorce speculation in the fall, but Brady said they were able to overcome it.
While the Deflategate issue won't go away, with a four-game suspension being levied on the four-time Super Bowl champion to start next season, the couple was able to put a stop to their marriage issues and support each other.
"We all have our challenges that we face in our life," Brady said "And it's great to have that rock that you can always lean on that can support you in different ways that you need to."
Though they've made strides to repair their public image as a happy family, there were also rumors that the 11-time Pro Bowler was again allowing football to impact his marriage after the Patriots fell to the Broncos in the playoffs this season. The strain on the relationship led to divorce rumors at the time.
"[Tom] can be cold and angry, and when he's in that sort of mood nothing Gisele says will help," an insider told OK! Magazine at the time. "They fought about everything and eventually stopped talking completely. They were just coexisting for the sake of the children."
While it may take a lot to believe anything Brady says given the Patriots' history with Spygate, Deflategate and other controversy, it seems his marriage is fine.
