Tonight at 10:30 p.m. the Los Angeles Lakers (1-1) will close out another night of NBA action by facing off with the 2012-2013 Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs (1-0). Live stream the game here. Lakers fans can listen to the game on 710 ESPN, while Spurs fans can do the same on Ticket 760.
The Lakers shocked the NBA with a 116-point explosion against the Clippers in their opener, then were run out of the gym by the Golden State Warriors in the second game of a back-to-back. Things don't get easier for L.A. tonight with the Spurs coming to town.
The Spurs may be without Tim Duncan tonight as he's battling a chest contusion, but Boris Diaw's new skillset may offset the loss of the "Big Fundamental" for one night.
"He went and talked to a guru in India or something," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "I don't know what he did, but he catches and shoots now. I got nothing to do with it. I've been begging him since he got here. His previous coaches have begged him. All of a sudden he's a catch-and-shoot guy. It's continued and we're happy about it."
"He was a great boost," Tony Parker said. "He has been playing well the whole preseason. He knocked down 3s all preseason and that is what he did."
Lakers guard Jodie Meeks is expecting a very tough game tonight. Meeks has filled in capably early on as a committee trying to replace the scoring of Kobe Bryant.
"They are a great team," Meeks said. "They have a great coach and a great organization. We just have to eliminate our mistakes because if you don't, they can really make you pay. It's going to be a tough game for us but we look forward to the challenge."
