At 8:00 p.m. on TNT the Chicago Bulls (0-1) will try to get a win at home for Derrick Rose when they take on the New York Knicks (1-0), playing the second game of a season-opening back-to-back. Live stream the game here; Knicks fans can listen to the action on 98.7 ESPN FM, while Bulls fans can hear the game on ESPN 1000.
The Bulls were beaten up in their opener against the Miami Heat, while Derrick Rose looked rusty in his first regular season action since 2011. Rose only netted 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting, while turning the ball over five times against the Heat's stupendous defense.
"If anything, I'm disappointed in the loss," said Rose. "My performance, I can easily change that by making shots and turning down the turnovers. It's not the end of the world. We can fix things. We did not show what we were capable of."
The Bulls aren't discouraged by a single loss to Miami, according to Joakim Noah, and the Knicks can expect Chicago's best effort. "I really believe in this team more than ever," Noah said. "I'm going to play better; our offense is going to get better. We feel like we're capable of playing a lot better."
Likewise, the Knicks probably didn't put their best foot forward either last night in their opener. They blew a 25-point lead, but Carmelo Anthony's 19 points and 10 rebounds was enough to get a win. "It was a test for us to see what type of team we are when it comes down to situations like that," Anthony said.
They'll need to play better against a hungry Bulls squad. If they get a lead in this game, Knicks center Tyson Chandler expects last night's experience to help them tonight.
"We want to put teams away, especially, you know, you're going into a back-to-back, so you have an opportunity to rest," Chandler said. "But like I say, at the end of the day, learning experience, and I'd rather learn with a win than a loss."
