Tim Duncan Chest Injury: 'Big Fundamental' Collides With Tony Allen, Injury Serious? [VIDEO]

San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan is scheduled to undergo more tests on Thursday after suffering a "chest contusion" during the team's season-opening win over Memphis.

According to BleacherReport.com, Duncan left Wednesday night's game early in the third quarter and did not return after colliding with the Grizzlies' Tony Allen while fouling him. He scored three points and had six rebounds in 17 minutes before being escorted to the locker room and his status for Friday's game against the Lakers.

"He'll get checked out," coach Gregg Popovich told BleacherReport. "He had spasms in his chest and his shoulders. He caught an elbow, so it kind of affected him from the chest up through his neck at some time or another."

If the injury is at all serious, it's the worst possible start to the season for the 37-year-old Duncan, who was hoping to put the pains of a torturous summer behind him.

Duncan and his wife of 12 years, Amy, were formally divorced over the summer in proceedings that became so bitter she was openly insinuating that she long thought the former Wake Forest star might be gay or at least bisexual.

Duncan later admitted to the court that he hired a private investigator to tail his wife because he suspected she might be cheating on him.
