Tonight at 8:07 p.m. the Boston Red Sox will be back in Fenway Park for Game 6 of the World Series with John Lackey on the mound attempting to win their third Fall Classic since 2004 against the St. Louis Cardinals. Live stream the game here or watch on Fox. Red Sox fans can hear the game on 93.7 WEEI, while Cards fans may tune in to 1120 KMOX.

Lackey has been derided as a bust since signing for big money in Boston this year, but when he debuted in 2013, he was a slimmer, fireballing version of himself. Now, he's in position to cinch a championship.

"It would be awesome," Lackey said. Adding to the "awesomeness" is the historical context of a win tonight. Should Boston win tonight or tomorrow, it will be the first time since 1918 the Red Sox won the World Series in Fenway Park. Babe Ruth was a member of the last group of Red Sox to win in Boston.

The last time a World Series Game 6 was even played in Fenway Park was when Carlton Fisk hit his famous home run down the left field line, and waved his arms in the air to will it fair.

"With no disrespect to history or to Carlton, you know, it's an iconic video and a highlight that is shown repeatedly, and one of the more memorable swings that probably has taken place in this ballpark," Red Sox manager John Farrell said Tuesday, "but hopefully there's somebody tomorrow night that can wave their arms just the same."

If anyone's going to do that it is designated hitter David "Big Papi" Ortiz, who is batting .733 with two home runs, six RBI, and 11 total hits in the World Series. He might struggle to tag the Cardinals tonight, however, with red-hot rookie Michael Wacha on the hill.
