Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather had his reputation as a dirty player cemented this season following multiple fines and most recently a suspension for hard hits deemed illegal under the NFL's new rules.

One of Meriweather's victims, Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall took to the media to decry Meriweather's actions, and called for him to be booted out of the NFL.

"Guys like that really don't understand that there is life after football. I respect the league trying to better our game and guys like that, maybe he needs to get suspended or taken out of the game completely," Marshall said. The pass-catcher injured his wrist on the hit, and his teammate Alshon Jeffrey was feared to have suffered a concussion after being decked by Meriweather.

The Redskins safety appealed a two-game suspension for his actions against Chicago, and received a one-game ban. Now he's lashing out at Marshall and getting extremely personal.

"Listen, everybody's got their opinion of things, you know. Everybody's got their opinion. He feels like, you know, I need to be kicked out of the league. I feel like, people who beat their girlfriends should be kicked out of the league too," Meriweather said.

"You tell me who you'd rather have: Somebody who plays aggressive on the field, or somebody who beats up their girlfriend. Everybody's got their opinion. That's mine. He's got his."

Marshall had been accused of domestic violence in 2009 but was found not guilty of simple battery.

Meriweather also blasted the league's rules on hard hits, hinting he'll now be drilling wide receivers in the knees. "I guess I've just got to take people's knees out," he said. "That's the only way...I'd hate to end a guy's career, you know, over a rule. But I guess it's better other people than me getting suspended for longer."
