Tim Tebow News: Former QB A Champion Off Gridiron Even If NFL Career Flamed Out [PHOTOS, VIDEO]

Tim Tebow may still be awaiting another opportunity to prove himself in the NFL, but he continues to prove his worth as a person off the field.

The former quarterback's charity, the Tim Tebow Foundation had a Celebrity Gala and Golf Classic in Jacksonville, Fla. over the weekend.

The efforts raised $1 million -- all of which will go to charity, according to TMZ. Many stars came out for the event, which TMZ reports was won by 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel.

It was the sixth consecutive year that Tebow threw the event and the cash raised will go to four organizations that are dedicated to children in need. Tebow has always been charitable, despite the struggles he's faced when it comes to keeping a job in the NFL.

After making a name for himself with a magical playoff game for the Broncos in 2011, the former Heisman Trophy winner had stops with the Jets, Patriots and Eagles. Philadelphia cut him last September and he remains unemployed, in search of another NFL team to take a chance on him.

Tebow took to Instagram on Monday to share a photo from the golf outing, praising his love for those who helped out. The 28-year-old has done many great things with his charity, including throwing 200 proms for children with special needs.

The former signal caller was clearly grateful for the opportunity to help out in any way he could at his golf outing:

Though he's had some struggles in his professional life, Tebow, a devout Christian, clearly hasn't lost his step when it comes to using his celebrity status to do good things.
