The premier matchup of this clash between NFC contenders will be a wide receiver battle between Calvin Johnson of the Lions and Dez Bryant of the Cowboys. Earlier this week Bryant made headlines by proclaiming himself capable of doing "anything Calvin Johnson can do."
"I think it's just a pride thing. When it comes to football, just being on the field, it's a mind-set and having a mentality. I honestly believe when I'm there, I'll be feeling like there's nothing I can't do," Bryant said.
Injured Lions wideout Nate Burleson scoffed at the notion, giving Dez credit for being a talented player but dismissing him as being on the level of "Megatron."
"Listen, I like Dez, I think he's one of the best receivers in the game right now, very talented, fast, big, strong," Burleson said. "He possesses all the tools to possibly be as good as Calvin. But he's not Calvin Johnson. No way, no how. Sorry, Dez. Keep it real."
The Cowboys have been on a roll lately, but Tony Romo figures to be under duress this week against Detroit's stout defensive line. Ndamukong Suh dismissed all notions that a looming meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will distract him on the field.
"I'm really just focusing on Dallas," he said. "I'm not really concerning myself with that, just yet, until the bye week comes."
