WWE 'WrestleMania 32' Rumors: 'Devastated' Vince McMahon Knows Roman Reigns vs. Triple H Isn't Enough To Sell 'Show Of Shows' [POLL, VIDEO]

Even Vince McMahon realizes WrestleMania needs more of a boost than the main event provides.

The very polarizing Roman Reigns will take on Triple H at WrestleMania 32 on April 3 at AT&T Stadium in Texas, in a main event that is sure to split the crowd.

Steve Austin Believes Roman Reigns Needs To 'Bring The Work Up'

The WWE tried to appease its audience by throwing fan-favorite Dean Ambrose into a match against Brock Lesnar, but the card still needed a huge marquee matchup to fill seats in the spacious home of the NFL's Cowboys.

McMahon, the CEO and chairman of the company, was aware of this need. Word in the rumor mill was that he was planning on putting face of the franchise John Cena against the face of WrestleMania, the legendary Undertaker.

Potential Outcomes To Triple H vs. Roman Reigns

Cena's legitimate shoulder injury caused him to go under the knife in January, and he is slated to be out until at least June or July. The "Cenation" leader has been known for coming back from injuries quicker than expected, but to be ready for a huge bout against The Undertaker less than three months after the operation seems like a stretch.

The 15-time WWE Champion has teased possibly returning, but the WWE already altered its plans by booking Shane McMahon to battle The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell for control of RAW.

Vince McMahon decided to bring his son back four weeks ago when it was determined Cena wouldn't be able to compete, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Wrestlingheadlines.com). The chairman was apparently "devastated" over the news of Cena's injury causing him to miss the "Show of Shows."

The WWE's head honcho had plans of making a Legend vs. Legend match between 'Taker and Cena carry WrestleMania 32, which shows that even the boss himself had some reservations about Reigns' ability to bolster the biggest show of the year by facing Triple H in the main event.

According to the report, Vince McMahon was worried that WrestleMania 32 would suffer from severe criticism and a lack of buzz without the Cena vs. 'Taker match. This is why he brought back his son.

It seems Vince McMahon may be on board with the rest of the WWE Universe, despite being the man behind Reigns' mega push.
