Bill Goldberg WWE Return Rumors: Shane McMahon's Return, Current 'WrestleMania 32' Plans May Keep Goldberg Off Card [VIDEO]

Bill Goldberg's prospects for a WWE return have taken a huge hit.

The former WCW and WWE Heavyweight Champion has never ruled out a comeback to Vince McMahon's company, but he also hasn't endorsed it as his favorite place to be, either.

Batista Blasts Vince McMahon

That didn't stop Goldberg from becoming a rumored opponent for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 on April 3. The WWE needs some high-profile matches if it hopes to sell out spacious AT&T Stadium, and adding Goldberg to the marquee could help it reach that goal.

Last week, it was reported that 'Taker's opponent would be someone who isn't on the roster, and while that came to fruition -- it wasn't Goldberg. Shane McMahon returned on Monday Night RAW this week and it was announced he will battle his father Vince's hand-picked opponent, The Undertaker, at WrestleMania for control of RAW.

Possible Outcomes To Roman Reigns vs. Triple H At WrestleMania

Goldberg could still return for another match, but there are limited options for big-draw opponents. The man who was once 173-0 in WCW to begin his career has always said he'd love to avenge his awful match with Brock Lesnar from WrestleMania XX.

"The fact is, behind the scenes, there's stuff that goes on that's bush-league," Goldberg told RollingStone.com last June. "It's laughable. So to see a guy like Brock do what he's doing, are you kidding me? I admire him whole-heartedly, and I like to think that I taught him a thing or two. I'd love to wrestle Brock again."

If that rematch ever happens, it won't be at WrestleMania 32 because it was also revealed Monday night that Lesnar will take on Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight on April 3.

Anything can happen, but given Goldberg's attitude toward WWE and his two potential opponents already having other plans, the answer to his "Who's Next?" catchphrase may prove to be nobody.
