Today at 2:45 p.m. two UEFA Champions League Group H teams, Celtic and Ajax, will take the pitch at Celtic Park in Scotland in a matchup to avoid an early hole in the standings that can be live streamed here.
Neither team has a victory in Champions League play yet this season, although Celtic has two losses while Ajax has managed a draw and a defeat. Ajax coach Frank de Boer is 0-2 in his last two trips to Celtic Park, and said he's hoping the winds of luck have shifted to his direction.
"Things can change sometimes and hopefully now the luck is on my side tomorrow," de Boer said. "I remember the great atmosphere and the rivalry between the two clubs. I played against (Henrik) Larsson and he was a real pain in the **** for Rangers at that time! The atmosphere is still in my mind. For me, it was a great adventure."
The Ajax coach seemed surprisingly thrilled for his side to take the pitch in such a crazed, hostile environment. "When you are young, you want to play in this kind of stadium and this kind of atmosphere. It has to give you more adrenalin in your body to perform better," de Boer said. "Of course, you can be nervous but when the referee starts the game, you have to get rid of the nerves and enjoy a great stadium and a great pitch."
Celtic coach Neil Lennon hopes his club can thrive off the atmosphere, because he termed this match a must-win. "I'm confident with this team that we can perform away from home as well, however, winning this game would put us in a really good position in the group," Lennon said. "Losing the game would probably end our aspirations for trying to qualify."
