Carolina Panthers Rumors: Cam Newton Auburn Ties Not Enough To Make A Fan Of Charles Barkley [VIDEO]

Cam Newton helped Charles Barkley’s alma mater, Auburn, win a national championship in 2011. It’s still not enough for the NBA Hall of Famer to be 100 percent on board.

Speaking on “The Dan Patrick Show” on Wednesday, Barkley let his strategy to neutralize Newton be known.

Cam Newton Encouraged To Take Excessive Celebration Fines

“Let me tell you something, as much as I love Cam Newton, if I played against Cam Newton, I'd put a hit on him, no question, because they rub it in pretty good,” Barkley said. “It's fun to watch, I guess, as a fan if you like Carolina, and I like sports and they're having so much fun, but it wouldn't be a lot of fun to play against.

“Because if you're dabbing and Supermanning and kicking my butt, I'm going to get the players together and say, 'The first guy that can hit that guy, take him out. We got to get rid of him' because they rub it in pretty good.”

Cam Newton’s Dancing Is Ruining America

Fortunately for Newton, the Broncos won’t follow the same line of thinking. The Saints and their epic “bountygate” debacle in the 2009 NFC Championship game ruined that fun for everyone.

But there’s more than enough out there that do.

As much as Barkley would hurt Newton, he is grateful for Auburn’s decision to recruit him.

"As I've always said,” Barkley added, “if we gave Cam Newton $200,000 to come to Auburn, boy, that was a good investment.”
