Aaron Hernandez Trial Update: Shayanna Jenkins To Be Arraigned On Perjury Charge [VIDEO]

Aaron Hernandez's fiancee is due to be arraigned on perjury charges Tuesday in connection with the first-degree murder case filed against the former New England Patriots tight end, according to the Boston Herald.

Shayanna Jenkins will appear in Falls Rivers Superior Court after being indicted last month and accused of misleading investigators who still ultimately charged the 23-year-old Hernandez with the June 17th slaying of one-time associate Odin Lloyd.

The 27-year-old semi-pro football player was found shot to death in an industrial park not far from Hernandez's North Attleborough mansion where Jenkins also reportedly resided.

Attorneys for Jenkins have charged prosecutors with using "abusive" tactics in trying to coerce Jenkins into testifying against the former NFL star and father of her young child.

Hernandez remains jailed without bail and relegated to solitary confinement at the Bristol County Jail. He has pled not guilty to the murder charge is expected to be formally tried sometime in 2014.

Multiple media outlets have reported police believe Hernandez may have killed Lloyd over concerns he might implicate him in a 2012 double-slaying in Boston that remains unsolved. A grand jury continues to investigate Hernandez's potential involvement in that drive-by shooting after a vehicle believed to be connected to the crime scene was found in the garage of a home owned by his uncle.
