Parker Bohn III, Lonnie Waliczek, Jason Sterner and Jon Van Hees descend onto Reno for the PBA Scorpion Championship on Sunday.
Sterner is trying for his second title, having won the Don Carter Classic in 2013. The 32-year-old defeated Wes Mallot in the championship match 299-235. Sterner was also named the 2006-07 PA South Region Rookie of the Year and went on to win the 2007-08 PBA South Region Player of the Year.
Bohn III brings a bevy of experience to the lanes. The 52-year-old boasts 33 career standard titles, two major titles and three PBA50 Tour titles. His last major title came in 2013, when he won the PBA World Championship.
Waliczek and van Hees don’t carry the same pedigree. Waliczek had his best of finish of 16th in the 2012 Scorpion Open, while van Hees only owns two regional titles.
