The Dallas Stars (1-1-0, 2 points) will try to shake off some rust after not playing since Saturday when the head to Winnipeg to face their Central division rivals the Jets (2-2-0, 4 points). Live stream the game here; Stars fans can hear the game on The Ticket 1310 AM, while Jets fans can tune in to TSN 1290.

Stars coach Lindy Ruff has put a heavy emphasis on Dallas' upcoming three-game road trip, beginning in Winnpeg tonight, because he views this as a foundation for the entire season.

"It adds up a lot more than you think. You can set the tone early," Ruff said. "You can get a feel for a team early. We want to be a team that can go on the road and just play the same way shift after shift and have a team on the road say, 'Boy, those guys are tough to play against.' When you get to that point, you can be a real good team."

Ruff has also been experimenting with new line configurations, recently inserting center Rich Peverley to the top line along with Tyler Seguin and left-winger Jamie Benn. Seguin is also listed as a center, but Ruff thinks the loaded line can cause damage.

"On some of those setups, he'd just be the centerman," Ruff said of Peverley. "It's a natural position for him and Tyler is used to playing right."

Meanwhile, the Jets are fresh off two straight losses, the second of which came last night against the Minnesota Wild. "I don't think we had a lot of jump," left-winger and captain Andrew Ladd said after the defeat. "They do a pretty good job of clogging up the neutral zone, and to get shots you have to get pucks back."
