Wladimir Klitschko, the heavyweight champion of the world, has conquered some of the biggest men in the world in the ring, but now must see if he can conquer love. He and actress Hayden Panettiere are engaged, according to reports.
Panettiere, one of the stars of Nashville, was flashing a huge rock on her finger during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Michael, prompting Kelly Ripa to inquire. Panettiere then confirmed her engagement to Klitschsko to applause from the studio audience.
In June, Panettiere spoke about her relationship with the boxer, joking that she was the boss of the pair despite their vast size difference. "I am in charge and can throw him around like a rag doll," Panettiere said. She also revealed a pet name for Klitschko...Borat. "He was born in Kazakhstan so I call him Borat. I even tried to get him the bathing suit!"
Panettiere is a former child star that has avoided many of the pitfalls that derailed the careers of Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes, and threaten to be taking hold of Miley Cyrus.
"I'm no different to anyone else and those same doors were opened to me and they are very easy to walk through," Panettiere said. "Drugs, alcohol, being in inappropriate places where you shouldn't be at a certain age -- it's a very tough position to be in, but I had great people to pull me back from it."
Some heavyweight boxers have had to pull back from Klitschko, however. Last Saturday Klitschko took apart Alexander Povetkin for 12 rounds, defeating him unanimously to retain his heavyweight title. He improved his record to 61-3-0, with 51 knockouts.
His last loss came against Lamon Brewster in 2004, which he avenged with a knockout in 2007. Since dropping the first Brewster bout Klitschko has won 19 consecutive fights.
