Tonight at 6:07 p.m. the Tampa Bay Rays will attempt to stave off elimination at the hands of the Boston Red Sox at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, in a game that can be watched on TBS or live streamed here. Red Sox fans can hear the game on 93.7 WEEI, while Rays fans can tune in to WDAE 620.

Tensions may be running high in Tampa Bay, as the high-strung Rays are showing cracks in their mental armor. David Price is apologizing for insensitive tweets made about critical commentators in which he cited his array of athletic accomplishments and dismissed them as "nerds."

Price was also involved in a mini-spat with Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz, who stood and admired a blast off the left-hander on Saturday. "He steps in the bucket and he hits a homer," Price said, "and he stares at it to see if it's fair or foul. I'm sure that's what he'd say. But as soon as he hit it and I saw it, I knew it was fair. Run."

Frustrations were boiling over for the ace, but he's since cooled down, apologizing for both his Twitter outburst and his comments toward Ortiz. Now the Rays must settle down to avoid a sweep. They've done well in elimination games so far so there's hope; some even believe the Rays just aren't coming full throttle in "non-elimination" situations.

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria is dismissing that notion, telling reporters, "I don't think we let our guard down at all. I think we just got outplayed. At some point you've got to be able to admit that and turn the page and go to the next day."

The Red Sox will trot out Clay Buchholz for the potential eliminator, while Alex Cobb will take the hill for the Rays.
