Today at 4:37 p.m., the Pittsburgh Pirates will host their first game of the National League Divisional Series against the St. Louis Cardinals after bludgeoning the Redbirds in Game 2 to even the series. The game can be live streamed here; Cardinals fans can hear the game on KMOX 1120, while Pirates fans can do the same on KDKA-FM 93.7.

The Pirates are turning to surprise ace Francisco Liriano, who led the Pirates past the Cincinnati Reds in the wildcard round to give them a 2-1 advantage here in the NLDS. He almost wasn't a part of the team, however, after getting injured while playing with his children.

"I didn't think I was going to play this year," Liriano said. The Bucs, though, alays believed Liriano could be a major asset, if not their top pitcher. "If A.J. (Burnett) was going to be our one, he could be our two," manager Clint Hurdle said. "Where that two went, how high it played, I don't think any of us knew."

Liriano has endured a long road back to relevancy since bursting onto the MLB scene as a rookie with the Twins in 2006. Now, he's all about doing the best he can each time out and not feeling the pressure. "Just trying to please the fans as much as I can," Liriano said, "be myself and make some good pitches and just give them the win they want."

The Cardinals are countering with their own young pitcher, Joe Kelly, whom his teammates describe as obliviou to playoff heat. "That's what playoff baseball is all about," Kelly said. "You dream about it as a little kid. It's going to be a great time. The atmosphere is going to be electric, obviously and I think our side is looking forward to it."
