Javier Hernandez only had a one-percent chance to play for Manchester United according to Louis van Gaal, per the Guardian. Given his latest run of form with Bayer Leverkusen -- 18 goals in his last 21 games -- his chances to play for one of Europe's top clubs are much greater.
The time for Bayer Leverkusen to cash in on their six-month investment is now. Below are three clubs Hernandez should consider in January.
Manchester United Would Still Be In Champions League If They Had Chicharito
Bayern Munich
Hernandez to Bayern Munich checks every inconceivable box.
As with Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze, Munich would once again purge the German league for talent, ensuring its monopoly in the Bundesliga remains intact. The move would also see Hernandez join the biggest club in one of Europe's top five leagues.
Chicharito Should Return To Chivas Guadalajara
The 27-year-old is no stranger to that pressure, having already featured for United and Real Madrid.
The minutes just wouldn't be there for him to enjoy.
Arsenal
If its minutes and prestige Hernandez truly seeks, then a trip to North London is the next obvious choice.
Arsenal are only three points off the top of the Premier League table and are virtual lock to be eliminated in the Champions League Round of 16 every year. The fact that the club can't stay healthy opens plenty of playing opportunity for Hernandez.
Inter Milan
Hernandez was already linked with a move to the San Siro. The transfer would make even more sense come January.
Inter Milan sit atop the Serie A table, but lack the finishing touch to see out their campaign. They boast just 22 league goals in 16 matches. Hernandez alone is four goals off that pace.
