Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Chip Kelly Can Be Replaced By Another 'Mad Genius' From College [VIDEO]

The Eagles gave up 45 points to the Buccaneers on Sunday and only scored 17, dropping their record to 4-6. So of course, bad things are being said about polarizing head coach Chip Kelly, who made a slew of questionable moves in the offseason that aren’t paying off.

ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith said that sources are telling him many players in the Eagles locker room flat out dislike Kelly, and that, coupled with Super Bowl expectations, could get Kelly canned at the end of the season. Should Philadelphia move on from Kelly, they could go the “mad genius” route once again with another bold choice—current LSU coach Les Miles, who could be let go any day now.

Expect Chip Kelly To USC Rumors To Heat Up

The writing is on the wall in Baton Rouge, as boosters have agreed to cover the $15 million required to buy out Miles and his staff, according to ESPN. Miles’ Tigers have lost three straight games to SEC rivals Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss, despite having the early Heisman frontrunner, running back Leonard Fournette, in the backfield.

Miles may be having a rough time in 2015, but his overall tenure with LSU is a success. He has compiled a 110-32 record as the LSU coach in 11 seasons, and his winning percentage (.775) outstrips what current Alabama coach Nick Saban accomplished when he wore purple and gold. Miles won a national championship in 2007, and gained notoriety for his penchant for taking big gambles with his play calls.

It Doesn't Seem Like Chip Kelly Knows What He's Doing

One factor that could scare the Eagles off from Miles is that despite his national title, and two SEC championships, he is just 7-6 in bowl games. The Eagles have never won a Super Bowl, and will likely want an established big-game coach to fill Kelly’s shoes.
