Cleveland Cavaliers News: LeBron James Walks Out On Team

LeBron James made an uncanny move, but he apologized later on for the oversight.

In the Cavaliers game against the Hawks on Saturday, James subbed himself out during the third quarter, but without the proper permission from game officials.

According to ESPN, Jared Cunningham threw the ball out of bounds as he was trying to send it over to James. Seemingly out of frustration, James headed to the bench without the proper protocol of player substitutions. And for that, the Cavs were assessed a technical foul.

What made the scene a lot more interesting was the fact that the Cavs were comfortably up at that point, 72-46.

According to head coach David Blatt via CBS Sports, James was upset at how his team was playing, frustrated and felt like they were playing hockey.

"Well, he was frustrated. He knew we weren't playing right," Blatt said. "And (he) thought we were playing hockey. A hockey sub,” says Blatt.

When James was told of Blatt’s piece, here was his response: "Did he tell you my comeback? There aren't hockey subs in basketball, but I do make hockey assists."

Obviously, James wants the team to stay focused for the entire season until they reach their goal, which is to win an NBA title.

And apparently he doesn’t want the team to let up, not even if they are holding a huge lead.

Despite being the heavy favorites in the Eastern Conference, it is apparent that James wants the team to take this season seriously. The substitution may have been something bizarre, but at least James had the guts to apologize to his teammates after the game.
