Brett Favre Agent Bus Cook: 'He Could Play Today'; Would Vikings, Buccaneers, Jaguars Be Interested In Workout? [VIDEO]

Brett Favre has been infamously fickle about his employment status in the NFL, so when his agent Bus Cook recently said "Today, he could play today. I saw him the other day. He's in the best shape I've ever seen him in, physically," ears perked up.

Cook spoke glowingly of the condition Favre has kept himself in since last playing in 2010. "His arms look like a blacksmith's arms. He rides a bike probably 30-50 miles a day. He runs four or five miles a day. He's coaching at the high school and they're undefeated. He loves it. His body fat is 7.5 percent and he weighs 225 pounds. He could play today, better than a lot of them out there today."

While the 43-year-old is extremely unlikely to ever play again, some teams in the NFL today might be able to use a veteran. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are turning to their rookie passer Mike Glennon, a third round draft pick out of North Carolina State, due to Josh Freeman's ineffectiveness.

The Cleveland Browns throw Brandon Weeden out there week after week, and have turned to Brian Hoyer while Weeden heals up from a thumb injury. In Jacksonville, the quarterback situation is so dire that fans have taken to the parking lot to beg for the historically inaccurate Tim Tebow to assume the reins.

And in Minnesota, Christian Ponder has led the Vikings to an 0-3 record despite having a 2,000-yard rusher from one season ago who took home NFL MVP hardware in the backfield.

Cook made more comments describing Favre's past glory, but he used an awful lot of past tense. A comeback at age 43 seems out of the question no matter what shape he's in. "He made the game exciting to watch. He was going to throw it to somebody. It may not be who it was supposed to be, but somebody," Cook said. "And he just loved to play football."

Still, it's Brett Favre. Stay tuned.
