Floyd Mayweather Vs. Danny Garcia? Danny 'Swift' Taking Rematch With Lucas Matthysse? [VIDEO]

Danny Garcia proved to his doubters that he is a legitimate force in the 140-lb. weight class with an impressive win over power punching Lucas "The Machine" Matthysse, whom many accused Garcia of ducking.

After the fight Garcia exclaimed that the champ isn't afraid of anyone. He may be proving that once again, as Garcia is reportedly in talks with Matthysse's camp for a rematch.

"I'm the champion of the world," Garcia said. "The champion of the world isn't scared of anyone. If you can make it out of Philadelphia, you can make it out of anywhere. He's a strong fighter; he's going to come at me. The only way to slow him down is to go to the body. Later in the fight, I was throwing combinations, and he was just standing there and not slipping."

Their bout on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Canelo Alvarez was very even in the early rounds, with Garcia raising eyebrows with a few low blows. The momentum of the battle changed drastically midway through, when Garcia opened a nasty cut on Matthysse's right eye that essentially closed it right away.

Garcia began moving to his left with ruthless efficiency and pounding on the eye, racking up round after round and leaving Las Vegas with a unanimous decision. Some speculated that Garcia's win may put him next in line for a Mayweather payday, but reports indicate Floyd might be looking elsewhere for a bigger draw.

That leaves the door open for Matthysse, one of boxing's most exciting fighters, to get another shot at Garcia. "A date is still being worked out," Matthysse told Argentine media members.

As for a big money fight with Floyd, he still has four remaining fights on his Showtime contract. Instead of rushing into a likely loss, Garcia might be using some of that time to build his name up even further by putting on exciting shows with the likes of Matthysse, assuming credibility-making risks.
