Matt Harvey Rumors: Pitcher To Continue Relationship With Boras, Bad News For Mets [VIDEO]

Matt Harvey's relationship with the Mets has been tumultuous to say the least in recent months, and today the pitcher all but confirmed that the complications will continue.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports tweeted that Harvey has no intentions of switching agents. Harvey told Rosenthal that he and Scott Boras will be together for years to come, saying "I will be with him for my entire career."

Boras has been a thorn in the side of the Mets all season, and his continued relationship with Harvey does not bode well for the future of the pitcher and his current team. Harvey is still under Mets control for three more years, but the future of their relationship after that is largely in doubt.

The Harvey and Boras controversy began in September when the super agent said that the Mets ace was approaching an innings limit and would need to be shutdown, or risk injuring his surgically repaired arm. Both the Mets and Boras had different plans for Harvey, and Harvey's reputation suffered more than anything.

Harvey continued to draw the ire of the fans and New York press as he was the only player to miss the team's mandatory practice prior to the beginning of the postseason. David Wright, the captain of the Mets, made it clear he was not interested in excuses from Harvey saying he only cared about the players that did make it to practice.

Today's vote of confidence for Boras is definitely not good news for the Mets and will make it difficult to imagine the team and agent can find a way to keep Harvey in the future.
