Two 17-year-old southern California football players, one of them personally nicknamed "Sweet Feet" by rap star and youth football enthusiast Snoop Lion, have been charged with sexually assaulting up to six underage girls.
Kishawn Holmes, the player Snoop nicknamed and whom cops said they identified because of the serious nature of the crimes he is charged with, is alleged to have raped two different girls through the use of force and performed a lewd act on another with all of the victims being under the age of 14 and students at Vista Murrieta High School in Riverside County, according to the New York Daily News.
The newspaper added he also faces charges of trying to coerce one of his victims into not speaking with authorities and falsely imprisoning at least three others. He was arrested last Thursday and on Tuesday was ordered held in juvenile detention until his next court hearing scheduled for Oct. 30.
The News identified the second suspect as Byron Holt Jr. Though the actual crimes he is accused of remain sealed, the newspaper reported family members told reporters he faces felony charges of lewd acts on a minor under 14.
His lawyer later characterized the sexual interaction as consensual and he was expected to be released into the custody of his parents pending his next court appearance.
"I just want his name cleared," Tasha Penniman, told The News of her son. "Byron is a good kid, a great kid. ...He's very humble."
While prosecutors did not offer a firm timeline over which the alleged assaults are said to have taken place, they did reveal to the court that the most recent incident took place just last month.
According to The News, Holmes' Facebook page is dominated by football references including photos of of him with Snoop Lion at a game in nearby Diamond Bar early last year.
