Today at 2:45 p.m. the Champions League action continues with a Group E matchup pitting Chelsea against FC Basel in Stamford Bridge, England in a match that can be live streamed by clicking this link.
Controversial boss Jose Mourinho is back with Chelsea, and he will try to accomplish a feat he failed to achieve in his first stint with the Blues-leading Chelsea to a Champions League title. Despite not reaching that goal in his first run, Mourinho says he doesn't believe he has "unfinished business" here.
"I never felt the business was unfinished,'' said Mourinho. "For me the important thing is that Chelsea had a dream and the dream became true, by winning the Champions League. When you work in a club and you work in that, you prepare the future, you leave something in the club that remains for years. Your business doesn't finish the day you leave, your business finishes the day everything you did disappear.''
Despite not winning it all at Chelsea in his first go-round, the Blues have reason to believe success is coming. Mourinho has won two Champions League crowns, with Porto in 2004 and in 2010 with Inter Milan.
Mourinho has a long view of his return to Chelsea, and he's tossing the word dynasty around.
"We have to build a team full of talented players without the experience and the football philosophy born of having worked together for a long time. This is the beginning of a process with us and the Champions League. The process has to end with a team, a philosophy, an identity, a style of play."
Mourinho continued, "If we win a match but not in the style we're trying to build, it's three points, one step up the table but one step back in the direction of our work. What we want to do is both things at the same time. f we'd gone to Everton (on Saturday), had a very bad match and, in the last minute, Leighton Baines had scored an own goal and we'd won 1-0, would we be happy? In normal circumstances, yes, but when you're trying to build something different? No."
