Brandon Lloyd Zombie Movie? NFL WR Starring In 'After Effect,' Direct To DVD Film With Daniel Baldwin [VIDEO]

Brandon Lloyd, who led the NFL in receiving as a member of the Denver Broncos in 2010, has not landed a spot on an NFL team this year despite several teams needing to fill holes in their receiving corps.

Lloyd and his agent said that the receiver had interest from six other teams this offseason but he turned them down. It turns out, Lloyd is embarking on a new career altogether-acting.

On October 8th After Effect, a direct-to-DVD zombie flick will be released starring Lloyd and Daniel Baldwin. The movie is about a group of college students who agree to do what they think is a research study. Unfortunately for them, they didn't realize they actually volunteered to be part of a military experiment with horrific consequences.

It should be interesting to see if Lloyd's acting skills surpassed his receiving chops, which appeared to have been in steep decline last season. He replaced Chad Ochocinco on the New England Patriots' roster and was supposed to be their deep threat, but only caught 74 passes for 911 yards and four touchdowns. His 12.4 yards per reception were almost a career-low, save for an injury shortened 2007 in which he only appeared in eight games.

Despite not living up to New England's expectations, it is hard to imagine he couldn't help a receiving corps that is without tight end Rob Gronkowski and top receiver Danny Amendola. In Thursday nights mistake-filled victory over the New York Jets, Tom Brady was visibly frustrated with his rookie targets Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson for mental errors and drops.

After letting Wes Welker leave for Denver this offseason, and with tight end Aaron Hernandez embroiled in a murder investigation that led to his release, some speculated Lloyd might be brought in due to his familiarity with the system.

MMQB.com shot that down though, when reporter Greg Bedard said, "If anything they called him to set up their emergency list like they do at every position to see who might be available should the worst happen."
