WWE 'Survivor Series' 2015 Matches & Predictions: Projecting 5 Traditional Bouts For November Classic [VIDEO]

With Hell in a Cell over with, the WWE will now shift gears and start building toward its November staple the Survivor Series, which is a WWE Thanksgiving week tradition.

WWE Hell In A Cell Results, Review & Match Grades

When it first hit the airwaves on Thanksgiving Night in 1987, the Survivor Series focused on tag team wrestling by pairing different Superstars together with the goal of survival. In recent years, the company has done one or two traditional matches, but mostly focused on standard bouts.

With there being so many pay-per-views, the WWE could go back to the traditional roots of the Survivor Series, which takes place on Nov. 22 in Atlanta, to make it stand apart from the myriad events on the calendar. Here are five traditional bouts the WWE could put on if it went back to the old format.

Sasha Banks, NXT Outshining Divas Revolution

5-on-5: Team Ziggler (captain Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Ryback, Cesaro & Samoa Joe vs. Team Del Rio (captain Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Kevin Owens, Rusev & King Barrett)

This could be seen as a match pitting strong midcard guys that the WWE has no idea what to do with and no interest in pushing against each other. John Cena is expected to take some time off, so Del Rio will need someone new to feud with over his United States Championship, which could start with this bout. Ziggler, Neville and Cesaro battled Sheamus, Barrett and Rusev in a six-man tag team bout, so it's expected that the rivalry will continue into the November pay-per-view. Owens and Ryback have been feuding over the Intercontinental Championship, so they also would be added to the mix. Joe or another NXT superstar could be put in as a surprise mystery partner to give the faces five members to go up against the heels.

4-on-4 Divas Survival Match: Team Charlotte (Captain Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks & Natalya) vs. Team Bella (Captain Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Alicia Fox & Paige)

The WWE can't ignore the support of Banks for too long and it would make sense to finally have her go off on her own as a babyface due to the reactions she garners from the WWE Universe. Fans chant for "The Boss" even when she's nowhere in sight, and uniting her with Lynch and Charlotte would make sense here given their history in NXT. The WWE seems to be lukewarm on Paige's heel turn, but it is expected she'll eventually make the full character change and feud with Natalya and her former PCB stablemates. Team Bella seems to be the group with the strongest footing out of the three trios that sparked the Divas Revolution, so they'll stay intact through Survivor Series with Nikki leading the charge against her rival Charlotte.

Tag Team Survival Match: Los Matadores & The Ascension vs. The Prime Time Players & The Lucha Dragons

In 1987 and '88, the WWE had a rich tag division and was able to throw all the teams into huge entertaining elimination matches, and they could do the same here if they added some NXT squads for one night only. If not, they could at least throw the leftover teams into a bout against each other, even if it's relegated to the pre-show.

4-on-4: Team Gold Standard (captain Seth Rollins & The New Day) vs. The Dream Team (captain Randy Orton, Kane & The Dudley Boyz)

Rollins and the trio of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods have already shown an affinity for one another and they'd make a great team carrying the WWE World Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships. With Cena being absent, someone has to step up to captain the babyface team, though Orton could be questionable due to his latest injury. Kane's feud with Rollins is sure to continue for another month, so it makes sense putting him in there and the Dudleyz have been at odds with The New Day for months. If Orton can't go, Ziggler would be a good replacement, which would lead to tweaks of the first match, because The New Day took him out a few weeks ago on RAW.

4-on-4: The Wyatt Family (captain Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan & Braun Strowman) vs. The Darkside (captain The Undertaker, The Rock, Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns)

There have been rumors that a return for The Rock may be in the works for Survivor Series and if he did come back, this main event would be off the charts. With The Rock being Reigns' cousin and having respect for The Undertaker, he could make a great surprise fourth man to the lineup. The Wyatt Family has been feuding with Reigns and Ambrose for years and they re-opened their rivalry with The Undertaker by carrying him out of Hell in a Cell. The seeds are already planted for an explosive traditional bout and one that would definitely steal the show on 'Taker's 25th anniversary with the company.
