Floyd Mayweather Jr. Next Fight: Amir Khan, Danny Garcia Frontrunners To Hit 'Lottery'? [VIDEO]

Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought Saul "Canelo" Alvarez Saturday night, the man the boxing universe was clamoring to see against "Money." Mayweather put forth perhaps the best performance of his illustrious career, evading almost all of Canelo's punches and leaving the Mexican superstar with a mouse under his eye.

The biggest challenge for Mayweather going forward will be finding interesting opponents the boxing public believes can challenge the sport's top pound-for-pound fighter. The fighter most likely to earn a date with Mayweather is Danny Garcia, the Philadelphia 140-lb. fighter who defeated knockout artist Lucas Matthysse on Mayweather's undercard,

Garcia was a fairly heavy underdog against Matthysse on Saturday, but showed good power and surprising defensive skills, as well as a strong chin against the "Argentine Machine."

Another intriguing opponent could be Amir "King" Khan, who doesn't have the resume some other fighters may possess, but could pose a different problem stylistically for Floyd. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer seemed to hint that Khan could be a possibility saying, "Power and size is not going to beat Floyd," Schaefer said. "We saw that tonight. So maybe speed will? I don't know."

Stephen Espinoza, who heads up Showtime Boxing, also said Khan could be under consideration for a Mayweather fight. "Amir Khan, who's out there, is a possibility, and I think that's interesting just because of the speed," Espinoza said. "We saw that strength isn't the answer. But speed and precision, which Khan has in spades, maybe that's the answer."

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe isn't committing to any opponent just yet. Following Floyd's dominating win, Ellerbe said, "There are guys out that are qualified to hit the lottery and get the Mayweather fight. But at the end of the day, certain guys bring out certain things better than others, so we just have to wait and see how this thing shakes out."
