Could one of America's most talked about quarterbacks be headed to play in Russia? Reports indicate that Tim Tebow, who despite not playing for an NFL team still continues to make headlines on a weekly basis, was offered $1 million to play in two games for the Moscow Black Storm.

Black Storm owner Mikhail Zaltsman made the offer known over the weekend.

"We have offered him $1 million for two games," Zaltsman told Russia Beyond The Headlines, according to CBS Connecticut.

Tebow, a two-time BCS National Champion who won the Heisman trophy in his sophomore season and became the first to do so that young, was a decorated NCAA athlete but recently fell on hard times in the pros after the Patriots cut him prior to the official start of the NFL season. Zaltsman is hoping to court the signal caller and said there was some interest from Tebow but his representatives could be holding him back, according to CBS Connecticut.

"I talked with him personally and he wanted to go," Zaltsman said, according to CBS Connecticut. "[His agents are] thinking of using him as a motivational speaker. They don't want him to play football."

According to CBS, Zaltsman was hoping to fly Tebow into Moscow to play in the team's Sept. 28 semifinal game against the Moscow Patriots in the American Football Championship of Russia, and then use him again in the finals in what Zaltsman hopes would be a title victory for the Black Storm.

Tebow has generated a lot of interest from outside the NFL, but nothing so far from teams in the league. Reports have surfaced that the Canadian Football League could have been an option for Tebow, but the two sides never talked as the Montreal Alouettes own the rights to the quarterback but have declined to speak to him. There was then rumors that the LA Kiss, owned by Gene Simmons, had interest in bringing Tebow into the Arena Football League, and there was also speculation fo a rugby team possibly having interest in Tebow.

After a successful college career, Tebow took over as the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos midway through the 2011 season, and orchestrated some monumental comebacks for the team as his star began to rise. Tebow led the team to an eventual 8-8 record and a surprising 29-23 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime in the opening round of the 2011 playoffs before the team eventually fell to the New England Patriots in the divisional round.

Tebow then was traded to the New York Jets, but he was used sparingly and his star began to fall before he had some hope with New England but ultimately was dropped.

In his last season of NFL action with the Jets, Tebow played in 12 games and went 6-for-8 for 39 yards without a touchdown and rushed for 102 yards on 32 attempts without reaching the end zone.

It remains to be seen whether or not Tebow will appear in a Moscow Black Storm uniform, but the offer is on the table.
