The New York Jets (1-0) earned a surprising win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week at home, and may be facing their bitter rivals, the New England Patriots (1-0) at just the right time. The Jets and Pats will face off at 8:25 tonight on Thursday Night Football on NFL Network, and can be live streamed here. Jets fans can listen to the game on 98.7 ESPN Radio, while Patriots fans can to the same by tuning in to 98.5 The Hub.

The Patriots are expected to play tonight without Rob Gronkowski once again, which they anticipated. They did not count on running back Shane Vereen breaking a bone on his wrist and getting placed on injured reserve however, nor did they think top wide receiver Danny Amendola would be battling injuries already.

Despite the injuries, don't expect Jets head coach Rex Ryan to be counting on anything less than New England's best effort.  "Their team is different now," Ryan said. "But again, it's New England. It starts with Brady."

Patriots' offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels thinks the plethora of new pieces in New England's offense will be able to fill in their roles nicely, even though many of them are rookies.

"We know that there are some players on our offense that are gaining experience each week and that there are plenty of players on our offense that have plenty of experience already," McDaniels said. "Our standard is high. We want to play good offense and take care of the football and maintain our balance, score in the red zone and convert on third down. Those things are never going to change."

The Jets won't be without injuries of their own. Rookie quarterback Geno Smith is down his most reliable weapon in the passing game, Jeremy Kerley, who sustained a concussion in Week 1. "We're going to do our best to prepare ourselves, and we will be ready come Thursday night," said Smith.
